Individual Content Analysis
Project Overview
This page documents my individual media usage analysis conducted from September 30 to October 6, 2025. I manually tracked my habits across platforms, noting how often I engaged with each, the context of use, and the emotional tone behind those interactions. The goal was to reflect on how digital media fits into my daily life and how my usage patterns shape my attention, productivity, and emotional regulation.
Individual Content Artifact
I created this graphic to visually represent the tension between digital immersion and real-world presence. The contrast between the scenic background and the cluttered screen interface reflects my own realization that much of my media use is passive, habitual, and often unnoticed. This design became a thematic anchor for my reflection and helped me distill my findings into a single, resonant message.

Personal Data Sheet
My tracked data revealed that platforms like YouTube and Spotify dominated my week, especially during multitasking moments like commuting, cooking, or getting ready. I used iMessage and Discord for most of my communication, while traditional social media like Twitter and Instagram played a minimal role. Gaming was surprisingly low, reflecting a shift toward passive entertainment due to academic demands.

Contextual Reflection
This project challenged me to think critically about my digital habits and how they intersect with my academic and personal routines. Designing the graphic and analyzing my data helped me practice:
- Visual storytelling to evoke emotional response
- Audience-aware messaging for clarity and impact
- Digital literacy in tracking and interpreting behavioral patterns
- Intentional design choices that support narrative cohesion
