Elevating 3D Girls Inc.
Through Digital Storytelling
For this blog post, I chose to focus on 3D Girls Inc.’s social media presence and digital storytelling strategy. Their Instagram, in particular, could benefit from a consistent content series that builds community and showcases impact. That’s why I developed a concept called STEM Stories — a weekly spotlight featuring team members and participants who embody the organization’s mission to Believe, Dream, and Achieve.
Artifact #1: STEM Stories Instagram Template
I created a branded design for a recurring Instagram post that highlights individuals involved in 3D Girls Inc.’s S.T.E.A.M. mentoring programs. The template includes space for a photo, a short quote, and consistent branding elements like their logo and hashtag. This format makes it easy to generate quick, engaging stories that build trust and visibility.
Artifact #2: Volunteer Recruitment Flyer
For my second artifact, I redesigned their volunteer flyer to be more impactful and versatile. My version features a refreshed logo I created, a clear mission statement to help volunteers understand the heart of the organization, and a QR code linking directly to their website. It’s optimized for both digital sharing and print distribution — perfect for social media posts, email campaigns, or tabling events.
Artifact #3: Logo Redesign
The current logo includes an outdated anniversary message that limits its flexibility. I designed a timeless version with multiple brand variations that can be used across platforms and campaigns. You’ll see this new logo applied throughout the other artifacts I created, helping unify their visual identity and strengthen brand recognition.
Artifact #4: Program Impact Report
Finally, I created a mini annual report infographic that 3D Girls Inc. can proudly share on social media. It highlights key metrics like the number of girls served, workshops hosted, and testimonials from participants and parents. It also features logos of community partners to reinforce credibility. This artifact helps communicate their impact clearly and builds trust with donors, volunteers, and the broader community.
